Fiamma Colonna Montagu is a ceramic sculptor specialising in large scale sculptures, as well as smaller works in stoneware and porcelain. Her work ranges from tiny works to large scale installations.
Fiamma has recently moved her studio from Oxfordshire to The Old Timber Yard, West Bay, Bridport with the intention of creating a new studio/workshop which allow collaboration between herself and other artists/architects/designers who would like to work in ceramics but have no technical training.
‘I’ve loved ceramics ever since studying it at Bryanston School, Dorset.. and I’m very excited to create a new studio here in West Bay… as Bridport is a thriving artistic community’.
The studio will have three working kilns and use multiple clays and techniques of making will be available. ‘Mainly I’d like professional
People to come and feel they can play at quite a serious level’.
Alongside to running the ‘working studio’ Fiamma continues to work as an artist, focussing on her large pieces which are sold to commission around the UK and internationally and also work on new mass large scale installations.
In 2014 Fiamma was the Producer for PCC of ‘Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red’, the installation of 888,246 ceramic poppies at the Tower of London and subsequently invented the ‘Tour’ of Poppies 2014-2018 which will finish up st the Imperial War Museum later this year.
